How do I get to the Château?
It is very easy to get to the Château - by plane, train or automobile. Click here for details.

 

Should I hire a car?

Probably. Most of the great things to see and do close to Château Les Carrasses require a car to get to. The nearest village is within walking distance – about 1.5k – and it is possible to use Taxis and public transport to get around, but be prepared for waits and walking.

 

On the other hand, if you are coming for a short stay, and your plan is to stay put at the Château, then you might not need a car. The Chateau has a dedicated client courtesy car, and we can arrange a pick up/drop off at the airport. Just let us know when making your reservation, or if you have already done so, by clicking here.

 

 

Where can I park?
We have plenty of parking at Château Les Carrasses.

 

When is check-in and check-out?
We ask that you check in any time after 4pm, and check out any time before 11am. However, subject to operating and booking constraints, we are pretty flexible. Just ask if you’d like to check in earlier or check out later and we’ll try to accommodate you. You can also leave bags with us should you need to.

 

Do you have facilities for people with reduced mobility?
Yes. Several of our apartments are adapted for reduced mobility, and the overall estate has also been endorsed by the French authorities as “handicapped-friendly”. The only area of the estate that is not accessible is the upper terrace, which was unfortunately not adaptable.

Are the pools heated? And when?
The main pool is heated from May 1st until October 31st, and is kept at around 28 degrees, the recommended level for comfort and health. The private pools are heated from June to September, sometimes longer depending on how the weather is.

 

Do you provide internet access?
Yes. Free broadband WIFI internet access is provided in all our suites, and is also available in the garden and by the pool.

Do you provide high chairs and other equipment for young children.
Yes. We have a certain amount of high chairs, cribs, cots etc. These are available free of charge (without liability) to guests on a “first-reserved, first-served’ basis. If all our equipment is reserved, we will put you in touch with a reliable baby equipment rental agency.

 

Do you allow dogs or other pets?
Sometimes. It depends on the pet and the season. Contact us and let us know about your pet.

 

What is the closest village?
The village of Capestang is around 1.5km through the vines from the Château. Quarante, the commune in which the Château is situated, is around 4km. For more details, click here.

 

Are there any shops in the village?
Yes. Capestang is a market town, and the biggest village in the area with a population of about 3500. It has 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, several banks/ATM machines, around a dozen or so cafés and restaurants, three bakeries, several butchers, a tourist office, a lovely Château, and lots more.

 

Is there a pharmacy nearby?
Yes. There is a large pharmacy in Capestang - about 2 minutes’ drive from Château Les Carrasses.

 

Is there a bank nearby?
Yes. There are several in Capestang.

 

Do you have bikes, golf clubs or tennis racquets?
Yes. We have several bikes, two sets of golf clubs, and good quality tennis, volleyball and boules equipment. All are provided free of charge to guests on a “first-reserved, first-served” basis.

 

Can I extend my stay?
Certainly, subject to availability.

 

Do you have pillows for people with allergies?
Yes.

 

Can we have a barbecue?
Yes, many of the private houses have a barbecue. We also have a really lovely, fully-equipped BBQ station for guests to use.. We also provide carefully-selected barbecue packs, sourced from the very best local butcher. For more details click here.

 

Are suites air-conditioned / heated?
All of our accommodation offers newly-installed reversible air-con, so are air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter. They are calibrated for the most extreme conditions!

 

Are there clothes washing facilities?
Yes. All the properties have a washer/dryer, with the exception of the Château Suites, which have a shared facility. We also have a laundry service.

 

Do you have a safe?
Yes. You can leave valuables in our safe.

Do your pools have alarms
All our private pools have alarms that meet strict French pool security standards. It is the responsibility of the guest to ensure the alarm is activated.

 

How do I cancel a booking?

What if I don’t turn up?

If you do not turn up on the day upon which your reservation commences, and fail to notify us, we will assume you do not require the accommodation. We retain the right to re-let the accommodation, at which point it may not be available to you should you subsequently arrive. We will also retain your reservation deposit. Cancellation Policy & Charges

When you reserve a stay at Château Les Carrasses, you pay a non-refundable booking deposit of 25% of the total amount payable.

 

In the event of cancellation:

  • More than 1 months before your stay: booking deposit will be refunded
  • Within 1 months of your stay: no refund of the booking deposit
